Some of you may have noticed that I have started a new "Who Is?" series with regard to 9/11. The reason I started this was because I thought too much emphasis was being placed on the physical aspects of 9/11, and not enough on the background information, the people who may have had something to do with it, the people who participated in the cover-up, the whistleblowers, the family members, the people who represent discrepancies, and so on.

I am using the work compiled by Paul Thompson at www.cooperativeresearch.org. There are links available to each of the stories sourced on the original website. Unfortunately, it's just too much work to duplicate what Paul and others have done with regard to links. I want to thank them all for their tremendous efforts.

I also want people to know that the information provided is not the "end all/be all" of 9/11. However, it is most definitely an excellent starting point.

After the 9/11 attacks, Jon took part in the “patriotic binge” as Dr. Michael Parenti likes to describe it. He believed in “revenge,” and wanted those responsible for the atrocities of that day to be held accountable. War was the “right” thing to do.

Then, in January 2002, President George W. Bush, and Vice President Dick Cheney called Senator Tom Daschle’s office, and asked him specifically not to investigate the attacks. This made Jon ask the question, “what are they trying to hide?” Then, over time, different pieces of information came out that showed this administration, and several of our elected officials were lying about the attacks, and doing their very best to cover-up those lies.

Since the end of 2002, Jon has worked tirelessly at trying to expose these lies, and the several cover-ups that have tried to hide them. He firmly believes that the 2,973 people that were murdered that day don’t deserve to have their names used in the way this Government has. He firmly believes their families deserve closure, and justice for what happened to them, as does the rest of this country and the world.

He still wants those responsible to be held accountable, but he wants to make sure those REALLY responsible are exposed, and the nightmare known as the “Post-9/11 World” is no more. Jon is also a huge advocate for the 9/11 First Responders that have been lied to and neglected by their Government in their time of need.

William Schaap: The Media, CIA, FBI & Disinformation

William Schaap, Attorney, Graduated from the University of Chicago Law School in 1964. Has been a practicing lawyer since then. A member of the bar of the State of New York and of the District of Columbia, he specialized in military law in the 1970's. He also practiced in military law in Asia and Europe. He later became the editor in chief of the Military Law Reporter in Washington for a number of years. In the 70's and 80's he was a staff counsel of the Center for Constitutional Rights in New York City and in the late 1980's was an adjunct professor at John J. College of Criminal Justice of the City University of New York.

Since 1977 or '78, in addition to being a practicing lawyer, Schaap was a journalist and a publisher - a writer specializing in intelligence-related matters and particularly their relationship to the media. For more than 20 years he has been the co-publisher of a magazine called the Covert Action Quarterly which particularly deals with reporting on intelligence agencies, primarily U.S. agencies but also foreign.

He published a magazine for a number of years called Lies Of Our Times which specifically was a magazine about propaganda and disinformation. Also he has been the managing director of the Institute for Media Analysis for a number of years. For about 20 years he was one of the principals in a publishing company called Sheraton Square Press that published books and pamphlets relating to intelligence and the media.

William Schaap has written dozens of articles on - particularly on media and intelligence and edited books on the subject. He has contributed sections to a number of other books and has had many of his articles, appear in other publications around the world including New York Times, Washington Post and major media outlets.

In other words, William Schaap is an expert on the subject of The Media, CIA and Disinformation.

Visas for Hijackers: Whistleblower J. Michael Springmann

J. Michael Springmann thought he was working for the State Department at the American consulate in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. According to Springmann, the CIA was really running the show for all but 2 or 3 employees at the consulate.

From 1987 through 1989, he tells us that his supervisor Consul General Jay Freres demanded that he issue VISAs to unqualified candidates. Springmann says when he denied VISAs to people unable to show any ties to their home country, Justice Stevens or Freres would quickly overrule his decision.

Springmann says that he later discovered these individuals were being sent to the U.S. for training and onward assignment to Afghanistan where they were to fight Soviet soldiers.

Jesse Ventura's Censored 9/11 Commentary on Huffington Post

Editor's Note: The following column by former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura was removed by Huffington Post after it was published March 9 and replaced with a note that states the site "prohibits the promotion and promulgation of conspiracy theories -- including those about 9/11."

You didn't see anything about it in the mainstream media, but at a recent conference in San Francisco, more than 1,000 architects and engineers signed a petition demanding that Congress begin a new investigation into the destruction of the three World Trade Center skyscrapers on 9-11.

That's right, these people put their reputations in potential jeopardy -- because they don't buy the government's version of events. They want to know how 200,000 tons of steel disintegrated and fell to the ground in 11 seconds. They question whether the hijacked planes were responsible or whether it could have been a controlled demolition from inside that brought down the twin towers and WTC Building 7.

Richard Gage, a member of the American Institute of Architects and the founder of Architects and Engineers for 9-11 Truth, put it like this: "The official Federal Emergency Management [Agency] and National Institute of Standards and Technology [NIST] reports provide insufficient, contradictory and fraudulent accounts of the circumstances of the towers' destruction."

He's especially disturbed by Building 7, whose 47 stories came down in "pure free-fall acceleration" that afternoon, even though it was never hit by an aircraft. This is a subject I take up in my new book, American Conspiracies, published by Skyhorse. An excerpt follows: Some people have argued that the twin towers went down, within a half hour of one another, because of the way they were constructed. Well, those 425,000 cubic yards of concrete and 200,000 tons of steel were designed to hold up against a Boeing 707, the largest plane built at the time the towers were completed in 1973. Analysis had shown that a 707 traveling at 600 miles an hour (and those had four engines) would not cause major damage. The twin-engine Boeing 757s that hit on 9-11 were going 440 and 550 mph.

Still, we are told that a molten, highly intense fuel mixture from the planes brought down these two steel-framed skyscrapers. Keep in mind that no other such skyscraper in history had ever been known to collapse completely due to fire damage. So could it actually have been the result of a controlled demolition from inside the buildings?

I don't claim expertise about this, but I did work four years as part of the Navy's underwater demolition teams, where we were trained to blow things to hell and high water. And my staff talked at some length with a prominent physicist, Steven E. Jones, who says that a "gravity driven collapse" without demolition charges defies the laws of physics.

These buildings fell, at nearly the rate of free-fall, straight down into their own footprint, in approximately 10 seconds. An object dropped from the roof of the 110-story-tall towers would reach the ground in about 9.2 seconds. Then there's the fact that steel beams that weighed as much as 200,000 pounds got tossed laterally as far as 500 feet.

NIST started its investigation on Aug. 21, 2002. When their 10,000-page-long report came out three years later, the spokesman said there was no evidence to suggest a controlled demolition. But Jones also says that molten metal found underground weeks later is proof that jet fuel couldn't have been all that was responsible. I visited the site about three weeks after 9-11, with Gov. Pataki and my wife Terry. It didn't mean anything to me at the time, but they had to suspend digging that day because they were running into heat pockets of huge temperatures. These fires kept burning for more than three months, the longest-burning structure blaze ever.

And this was all due to jet fuel? We're talking molten metal more than 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit. Probably the most conclusive evidence about a controlled demolition is a research paper (two years, nine authors) published in the peer-reviewed Open Chemical Physics Journal in April 2009. In studying dust samples from the site, these scientists found chips of nano-thermite, which is a high-tech incendiary/explosive. Here's what the paper's lead author, Dr. Niels Harrit of the University of Copenhagen's chemistry department, had to say about the explosive that he's convinced brought down the twin towers and the nearby Building 7:

"Thermite itself dates back to 1893. It is a mixture of aluminum and rust powder, which react to create intense heat. The reaction produces iron, heated to 2,500 degrees Centigrade [4,532 degrees Fahrenheit]. This can be used to do welding. It can also be used to melt other iron. So in nano-thermite, this powder from 1893 is reduced to tiny particles, perfectly mixed. When these react, the intense heat develops much more quickly. Nano-thermite can be mixed with additives to give off intense heat, or serve as a very effective explosive. It contains more energy than dynamite, and can be used as rocket fuel."

Gage is one of hundreds of credentialed architects and structural engineers who have put their careers on the line to point out the detailed anomalies and many implications of controlled demolition in the building collapses. As he puts it bluntly: "Once you get to the science, it's indisputable."

A former Navy Seal, professional wrestler and actor Jesse Ventura was elected governor of Minnesota on the Reform Party ticket in 1998 where he served until 2002. Today, Ventura is best known for hosting the popular television show Conspiracy Theory, which airs on cable television. He is also the author of five books.

AE911Truth Structural Engineer Dismantles the NIST Analysis of WTC 7

Structural engineer Ron Brookman probes the NIST analyses of World Trade Center Seven (WTC 7). This article titled The NIST Analyses: A Close Look at WTC 7 is available free as a download, or can be purchased as a spiral-bound hardcopy in the AE911Truth online store.

Brookman‘s careful examination of the NIST final reports regarding WTC 7 reveals an abundance of deficiencies and discrepancies. These come in many varieties. Some are erroneous, in that they conflict with scientific findings reported in the open literature.

Others are inconsistencies internal to the NIST reports. And finally, others are incomplete with respect to failure to investigate matters that had been flagged as needing further investigation in official reports from other government agencies. Once the final edits were complete, Brookman offered the following comment to accompany the article’s announcement:

“We still have the law on our side. The National Construction Safety Team Act requires NIST to establish the likely technical cause of the building failure. It also requires a public report including the analysis demonstrating the likely cause of failure. Upon reading the final NCSTAR reports issued in November 2008 regarding WTC 7, I could not find a complete analysis that proved the NIST hypothesis was correct. Instead I found numerous inconsistencies and unfinished business. Read the article if you are curious, and keep the NCSTAR reports handy for reference.”

Brookman is one of over 40 structural engineers who have signed the AE911Truth petition calling for a truly independent investigation of the events of 9/11, with emphasis on the destruction of the WTC Towers and WTC building 7.

Brookman received his M.S. in Structural Engineering (1986) from the University of California at Davis, following a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the same school in 1984. He has over 23 years experience in structural analysis, design, evaluation and rehabilitation of buildings in northern California.

9/11 Effort to go on Peterborough NH Town Article Voted Down 422-157.

PETERBOROUGH — Their petition article failed at the polls Tuesday, but the eight Peterborough members of the Monadnock 9/11 Truth Alliance say they are not backing down.

“We are delighted that about a third of the people think this was something worth looking into,” Karin Wells said. “We will continue to educate and tell people. ... It’s swimming upstream. It’s so hard.”

The petition article on Tuesday’s Town Meeting ballot asked voters to send a message to the government by asking the town to instruct the state Congressional Delegation to pursue a new and independent investigation to address thoroughly all of the evidence and unanswered questions related to the events of Sept. 11 2001.

“It’s simply to make noise and make people aware of it,” Wells said.

Voters said no, 422-157.

“We’re pleased that Gov. [Walter] Peterson is among our ranks. We think that it’s an indicator of how more and more politicians are realizing the weight of this issue,” Jay Iselin said.

Peterson, who signed the petition, told the Monadnock Ledger-Transcript yesterday that he did not expect the petition article to pass, but that asking questions when you have doubts is always the right thing to do.

“You should question some things if they don’t make sense,” he said. “I don’t think it’s unpatriotic.”

Peterson said both he and his wife, Dorothy, decided to support the petition article after watching one of the videos of the collapse of the Twin Towers, which he said looks like a controlled demolition to them. “That raised questions because that’s not how a building would fall if it was attacked,” Peterson said. “Both Dorothy and I had viewed the video and there were certainly a lot of serious questions raised about what happened there.”

“Most people don’t want to bother. But I think if you raise a question, if you really have a doubt, you should say it,” Peterson said.

The members of the truth alliance spent Tuesday outside of the Town House asking voters to say yes to their petition and said they did change some minds, but they were also met with hostility from some voters who opposed the petition. “We’re presenting facts and they’re presenting attacks on our character,” Kathleen Iselin said.

Members said that despite their defeat they plan to continue their search for the truth and to educate the public on the issue. A movie series in Depot Square will continue, starting May 22, every Saturday from 9:11 a.m. to 9:11 p.m. The public is welcome to come, watch a movie about the 911, ask questions of group members and pick up literature.

Example of Misinformation and Disinformation

This ought to be funny - but it isn't. It's very dangerous propaganda in that is carefully designed to STOP someone who is new (and therefore less knowledgeable) to discontinue his or her search for the truth behind 9/11.

There are people who are paid (presumably by the real perps) to make and distribute misinformation and disinformation to confuse you about the truth of 9/11. If you read the original scientific papers and watch the scientific DVD's available (Dr. Steven Jones, Richard Gage A.I.A., etc.), the issues of "chain of evidence" are fully addressed. One example, nine scientists in three countries announced the presence of highly energetic explosive residues in the dust from 9/11 - but the video neglects to mention that.

The cozy - but sarcastic & simplistic tone of the video below is typical of misinformation and disinformation. Outlandish lies and faulty logic are used - and evidence that "doesn't fit" is ignored in the hopes that you won't notice. If you're caught unaware - garbage like this could fool you into looking no further into the truth behind 9/11....and that would be tragic.



Unfortunately, many hours are wasted on debunking this sort of garbage....it's a sad waste of our time to deal with it.

The "disinformation" propaganda is aimed at the "newcomer" who doesn't know much and who is reading about the truth behind 9/11 for the first time. They depend on the psychological fact that "most people don't want to know that those buildings came down as a result of controlled demolition." The point is to grab the fearful and/or intellectually lazy person and convince him to look no further.

George W. Bush's Inaction On 9/11

Bush was clearly negligent in his duty on 9/11, not only as President, but also as our Commander in Chief. His inaction alone is reason enough to re-open the 9/11 investigation. Throw in the fact that Donald Rumsfeld was not at his post directing a defense for this country, and that Dick Cheney tracked the Pentagon attack "vehicle" from over 50 miles out and still did not shoot the object down, and you have negligence and dereliction of duty at the highest levels of the U.S. government.

Don't just ask for a new investigation. Ask for a real 9/11 investigation.

April 26, 2008 — The New York Times has exposed a secret Pentagon campaign to infiltrate the media with pro-war propaganda. The scheme reaches all the way to the Bush White House, where top officials recruited dozens of "military analysts" to spread favorable views of the war via the news.

Many of these propaganda pundits didn't reveal that they were working from Pentagon scripts or lobbying for companies seeking to cash in on major military contracts.

Matt Thompson of Free Press.net, a group that advocates for media reform reports this is a violation of every conceivable standard of journalism — and possibly of federal law.

Scholar-activist Four Arrows, co-author of American Assassination: The Strange Death of Senator Paul Wellstone, today revealed for the first time a reported conversation in which U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) confirmed that the Wellstone plane crash was an assassination, not an accident.

As Four Arrows recounted on today's edition of The Kevin Barrett Show (beginning somewhere around the 20 minute mark): a trusted friend of his, during a conversation with Sen. Boxer, was surprised when the Senator asked "are you a friend of Four Arrows?" The friend said yes. Boxer said "tell him he doesn't know how right he is. (The Wellstone assassination) was meant as a warning to all of us." Sen. Boxer went on to say that if asked, she would deny the statement.

Sen. Boxer, who other sources report has confidentially admitted that she knows 9/11 was an inside job, has publicly confirmed that she does not trust the 9/11 Commission version of events, specifically the official narrative of the alleged 9/11 hijackers. The following exchange took place between Senator Boxer and myself on Wisconsin Public Radio's program "Conversations with Kathleen Dunn" on December 5th, 2005 (click here for archive -- note that the text below is a summary, not a transcript):

Barrett: Senator Boxer, I’d like to thank you and Senator Feingold for hanging in there after 9/11...(Boxer: “You’re welcome.”) Now as you may know, Congressman Kurt Weldon has been screaming from the rooftops that we need a new 9/11 Able Danger investigation focusing on what US intelligence agencies knew about Mohammad Atta and when they knew it. Newsweek and other mainstream publications have written that Mohammad Atta was trained at the Foreign Officer’s school Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama. And Daniel Hopsicker’s book Welcome to Terrorland makes it clear that Hoffman Aviation in Venice Florida, where the so-called hijackers trained, was actually a CIA drug import facility—it was a flight school in name only. Now Lt. Colonel Anthony Shaffer has blown the whistle—he says he and his colleagues in military intelligence identified Atta as a terrorist in 2000, but they were gagged and ordered to “forget they had ever heard of Atta.” Are you among the 245 senators and representatives who have signed Congressman Weldon’s letter demanding a Congressional investigation into what US authorities knew about Atta prior to the 9/11 attacks?

Senator Boxer: That isn’t what the 9/11 Commission Report said—but that doesn’t mean it isn’t true. I haven’t seen Congressman Weldon’s letter yet, but...we need to pursue the truth about 9/11 wherever it leads. The truth should be the only priority. And we need the truth. My main focus now, though, is to end the war in Iraq.


According to Four Arrows, Sen. Boxer and other high-visibility people know that if they cross certain lines, they and/or their families will be assassinated. He offered this as a possible explanation of the reluctance of various well-known people, including Noam Chomsky, to speak the truth about 9/11.

Near the end of the show, Four Arrows suggested a "white armband" campaign for the 10th anniversary of 9/11, proposing that on that day, all those who do not believe the official version of events should wear a white handkerchief tied around their arm.

In His Own Words: BYU and Prof. Steven Jones Revisited

The following is from Prof. Steven E Jones in his own words.

A few days ago I was asked by a Professor at the University of Massachusetts what happened to me at BYU, in my own words. My response follows:

"0. In September 2005, I presented a colloquium at Brigham Young University (BYU) in a large auditorium, presenting the physical evidence I had accumulated by then that the “official story” of the 9/11 disaster was highly suspicious. I had invited professors from across campus and many came, from numerous disciplines including physics, math, psychology, engineering. I asked them to take the “kid gloves off” and tell me where I was in error. In particular, we watched the rapid, nearly-symmetrical collapse of WTC 7 and discussed this at length. After two hours, we had to leave because a class had the room scheduled. But before they left, I asked the audience (about 70 in all) if they agreed with me that an investigation into 9/11 events was warranted. By show of hands, all agreed with this proposition, except one, a geology professor. The next day, he saw me on campus and said that he had changed his mind and that he now supported a full investigation into 9/11. A number of those in attendance provided helpful, critical comments for my nascent paper published later in a volume by Profs. David Ray Griffin and Peter Dale Scott, and available on-line here:

In February 2006, I presented a 2-hour colloquium at Utah Valley State College (which soon became Utah Valley University). That seminar was taped and aired on BYU’s TV station, KBYU. Later in 2006, I was invited to speak on my 9/11 research at a colloquium sponsored by the BYU Mathematics Department – the reception to my 9/11 research was cordial and supportive at this colloquium.


1. BYU put me on administrative leave on Sept. 6, 2006, for my research on 9/11 -- but while clearly stating that "The university doesn't have an opinion regarding the theory."

This was an important distinction -- BYU was specifically NOT denigrating my "theory" that explosives were involved in the World Trade Center towers' collapse, as you see from the statement to the press by the BYU spokesperson.

It was never clear to me why the channels I chose were "inappropriate" (one was the Utah Academy of Arts and Sciences, April 2006 which was reviewed and approved by a fellow BYU Physics Professor), but the point is that BYU did NOT take a position on my 9/11 work and they made that point very clear.



2. BYU allowed me to continue my research on 9/11 after I was placed on admin leave, particularly regarding the dust generated during the collapse of the Towers, and even encouraged that research. It was important to the work that I was allowed to use the electron microscopes at BYU for this research. Dr. Jeffrey Farrer, director of the Transmission Electron Microscopy Laboratory at BYU was (and still is) permitted to work with me. 



3. Based on that research at BYU, a group of scientists wrote the paper now published in the Open Chemical Physics Journal, "Active Thermitic Material Discovered in Dust from the 9/11 World Trade Center Catastrophe," April 2009. BYU reviewed the paper prior to publication and found it to represent sound science, and approved it for publication in the Open Chemical Physics Journal. Specifically the chair of the BYU Department of Physics and Astronomy approved publication and told me personally this was sound scientific research and that he was now persuaded that explosives/pyrotechnics were involved in the destruction of the World Trade Center on 9/11.

4. There were two authors from BYU listed on that paper, Dr. Farrer (as second author) and Daniel Farnsworth. Their affiliation with the BYU Department of Physics and Astronomy was listed in the paper, with the approval of BYU.

5. About the same time as this paper was published, I was made an Emeritus Professor of Physics at BYU.

6. BYU explained that they had been under considerable pressure to let me go, which is to their credit to admit this. We know from press releases that Dick Cheney's office contacted BYU; and this resulted in Cheney's coming to BYU to give a commencement address just three months after my "early retirement" from BYU. BYU -- also to its credit -- allowed TWO on-campus demonstrations against the policies of Dick Cheney. I understand that outside of Utah, it was these on-campus protests against Cheney that received favorable attention. (How many protests has BYU allowed through the years? Very few!)

7. BYU provided a nice (not large) pension as I accepted their offer of early retirement, gave me a (shared) office that I still use. In view of these contributions to 9/11 research, my friend and fellow 9/11-researcher Kevin Ryan said "Hurray for BYU!" And I have to agree.

We have to acknowledge the political space they live and operate in, and BYU deserves the credits you point out.

One senses a high level of decency at BYU.

Kind of the same thing I feel in the mainstream press these days. The young journalists try to squeeze some information in and take the discussion as far as they can before they run their head into the editors hammer.
